Sep 22, 2025 Deixa un missatge

JIS G3115 SPV490 is a kind of steel plate for pressure vessels designed for use in environments where high strength and excellent toughness are required, especially at low temperatures. This grade is widely used in the fabrication of welded pressure vessels and industrial boilers where safety and reliability are paramount.

The chemical composition of JIS G3115 SPV490 is strictly controlled to ensure the desired mechanical properties and weldability. The typical chemical composition is as follows:

· Carbon (C): <= 0.20%

· Silicon (Si): <= 0.55%

· Manganese (Mn): <= 1.60%

· Phosphorus (P): <= 0.025%

· Sulfur (S): <= 0.015%

· Niobium (Nb): <= 0.05%

· Vanadium (V): <= 0.05%

· Titanium (Ti): <= 0.03%

· Boron (B): <= 0.004%

· Aluminum (Al): >= 0.020%

· Nitrogen (N): <= 0.020%

The mechanical properties of SPV490 are characterized by its high strength and good toughness, which are crucial for pressure vessel applications. The typical mechanical properties are as follows:

· Yield Strength: >= 315 MPa

· Tensile Strength: 490 - 610 MPa

· Elongation: >= 20%

· Impact Energy (at -40℃): >= 47 J

SPV490 steel plates are normally supplied in the as-rolled condition. However, they can be normalized or normalized and tempered to enhance their mechanical properties if required by specific applications.

Low-Temperature Impact Test:

SPV490 steel plates are subjected to a low-temperature impact test at -40℃ to ensure their toughness and reliability in cold environments. The minimum impact energy value is 47 J, as mentioned above.

Due to its excellent mechanical properties and resistance to low-temperature brittle fracture, SPV490 is commonly used in the following applications:
